"In 1968, the world as we knew it – the world as we understood it – changed. It was the year the first super-human appeared.
His name was Julio Gonzales, a sixteen-year-old Afro-Latino high school kid from Queens that, while being chased by a gang of bullies, discovered he had been born with a genetic ability that allowed him to run ten times faster than the fastest man in the world. A mutation on his DNA made him travel all the way to Manhattan in the space of a heartbeat.
Bestowed with an incredible gift, Gonzales became the crime-fighter known as Speedy. He took to the streets to make the world a better place.
He was the first... but not the last.
In the decades since then, being a superhero became profitable. There was potential for investment; for a market. Governments created their own super-groups, gathering the most well-known of those figures under the same banner; merch for these heroes and these groups sold like water in the desert. Technology to study those individuals was quickly developed, as well as the technology to create new – better – versions of them. Super serums, gadgets and enhancers of all kinds became prime-selling products in the black market.
It has been 60 years since the first super-human, but evolution is just getting started."

Welcome to the Age of Wonders! AoW is a tabletop roleplaying experience set in an alternative reality where superheroes are common place, magic is everywhere, and you never know when the next alien invasion is gonna come knocking at your door.
The presence of mutanes - whose existence, many suggest, is due to the fallout of the nuclear bomb triggering an evolutionary step in mankind centuries before we were ready for it - changed the social, political, cultural and economical landscape of every country in the world. Rio de Janeiro is underwater! The USSR still exists! There are colonies on the Moon! And both the military and the entertainment industry complexes are heavily dependent on superheroes to keep existing.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Play as a super-hero, as a super-villain, as magician, as a vigilante, or even as a hero for hire. Whatever you want to be, wherever you want to be, however you want to be. Here, not even the sky is the limit.

The Age of Wonders kit comes with 4 PDF files:
- The Age of Wonders rulebook, containing easy gameplay instruction, as well as a list of powers, weapons, gear and equipment, spells and proficiency options. (84 pages)
- The V for Villain companion guidebook, containing extensive lore related to the setting of AoW in the form of significant historical events, important locations, and organizations, as well as lists of NPCs that can incorporated into any game. (326 pages)
- A printable character sheet. (2 pages)
- 3 additional sheets (for NPCs, important figures and organizations) (4 pages)
The AoW system makes use of all dice (from the d4 to the d20, at least), and it can be played from 2 people (a game master and a hero) to however many you would like, as long as you're having fun.
